Where I Stand On The
Issues
Focused on the issues that matter to Florida House District 59

Education is Fundamental
Every child in Florida deserves a fair shot at a better future — no matter their ZIP code, family income, or background. Education is not a privilege for the few; it is a fundamental right for all Floridians.
Right now, too many families across our state are being left behind. Classrooms are overcrowded, teachers are underpaid, and schools in working-class communities — including right here in Pinellas County — are too often underfunded. That’s not just unfair — it’s unacceptable.
I believe Florida must make a serious, long-term investment in education at every level:
- Early Childhood Education: Expand access to affordable, high-quality Voluntary Pre-K (VPK) programs so every Florida child starts school ready to succeed.
- K–12 Funding Equity: Fully and fairly fund Florida’s public schools, ensuring resources reach the districts and neighborhoods that need them most.
- Support for Teachers: Raise teacher pay across Florida, reduce class sizes, and give educators the support and respect they deserve.
- Career & Technical Training: Strengthen workforce education and trade programs so students can graduate with real skills and real opportunities.
- Affordable Higher Education: Keep Florida colleges and universities affordable, expand Bright Futures and need-based aid, and reduce the burden of student debt.
This is about Florida’s future. When we invest in education, we grow our economy, strengthen our communities, and give every child — no matter where they live — the chance to succeed.
No child in Florida should be overlooked. No potential should be wasted. And no family should feel like the system is stacked against them. If we truly believe in opportunity, then we must fight for an education system in Florida that works for every child — not just a fortunate few.

Accountability & Affordability
Floridians are working harder than ever — but too many still feel like they’re falling behind. The cost of living keeps rising, while accountability in government too often falls short. That has to change.
In communities across our state, families are being squeezed by skyrocketing housing costs, out-of-control homeowners insurance premiums, and everyday expenses that just keep climbing. People aren’t asking for special treatment — they’re asking for fairness, transparency, and a government that actually works for them.
I believe we must restore accountability at every level of Florida government:
- Demand Transparency: Taxpayers deserve to know how their money is being spent — clearly, honestly, and in real time.
- End Backroom Deals: No more decisions that benefit special interests at the expense of everyday Floridians.
- Real Oversight: Hold state agencies and leadership accountable when policies fail or costs spiral out of control.
At the same time, we must tackle the growing affordability crisis head-on:
- Lower the Cost of Housing: Increase housing supply, protect homeowners, and address the factors driving up prices across Florida.
- Fix the Insurance Crisis: Bring real solutions to stabilize and reduce homeowners insurance premiums that are forcing families out of their homes.
- Address Cost of Living: From groceries to utilities, we must pursue policies that ease the burden on working families and seniors on fixed incomes.
This is about more than economics — it’s about dignity. It’s about whether people can afford to stay in the communities they love, raise their families, and retire with security.
Florida should be a place of opportunity — not a place where people are priced out of their own future.
It’s time to hold our leaders accountable and put affordability back at the center of Florida’s priorities — because government should work for the people, not against them.

Clean Air, Clean Water
Florida’s natural beauty is not just part of who we are — it’s our way of life. From our beaches and coastlines to our rivers, bays, and drinking water, we depend on a healthy environment to protect our health, our economy, and our future.
But right now, that future is at risk.
Pollution, unchecked development, and lack of accountability have put our waterways, air quality, and coastal ecosystems under growing pressure. Families should not have to worry about the safety of their water, the air they breathe, or the long-term damage being done to our communities.
I believe Florida must take bold action to protect what makes our state so special:
- Protect Our Coastlines: Strengthen safeguards against pollution and overdevelopment, and preserve our beaches and marine ecosystems for future generations.
- Clean Water for Every Community: Invest in water infrastructure, stop contamination at its source, and restore our lakes, rivers, and coastal waters.
- Clean Air Standards: Ensure strong protections so families can breathe clean, healthy air — no matter where they live.
- Corporate Accountability: Hold corporations accountable when they pollute our environment, and enforce real consequences when they put profit over public health.
This is about responsibility — not just for today, but for tomorrow.
We have a duty to protect Florida’s environment so our children and grandchildren can enjoy the same natural beauty, clean water, and fresh air that we do today.
Florida’s future depends on what we protect right now — and I will fight to ensure our environment is preserved, protected, and respected for generations to come.

Women’s Rights
I believe that personal medical decisions belong to individuals — not politicians.
In Florida, we are seeing increasing government interference in deeply private healthcare choices. These decisions are not abstract — they affect real women, real families, and real medical situations every single day. It is a deeply personal decision that should be made between a woman, her doctor, and her faith.
I stand firmly for:
- A Woman’s Right to Choose: Every woman deserves the right to make her own medical decisions with dignity and privacy.
- Protecting Access to Care: Ensure safe, legal, and accessible reproductive healthcare for all women in Florida.
- Doctor-Patient Trust: Ensure medical decisions remain where they belong — between patients and their healthcare providers.
- Respecting Personal Freedom: Women should not be forced into one-size-fits-all decisions by the government.
This is about respecting freedom, dignity, and trusting women to make the decisions that are right for their lives.
No woman should have to navigate fear, uncertainty, or political barriers when it comes to her own health. No family should be caught in the middle of laws that ignore real-life medical situations.

Caring for our Veteran’s
Supporting our veterans is not just a policy issue for me — it’s personal.
My father was a proud veteran of World War II. Like so many of his generation, he served with courage, sacrifice, and an unwavering love for this country. I grew up understanding what that kind of service means — and the responsibility we all share to honor it.
Our veterans answered the call to serve. They put everything on the line to protect our freedoms. In return, we owe them more than words — we owe them action.
Yet in Florida and across our nation, too many veterans are struggling. Some are facing homelessness. Others are battling untreated mental health challenges, physical injuries, or navigating a system that is too complicated and too slow.
That is not how we honor service. That is not how we keep our promise.
I believe we must ensure that every veteran is treated with dignity, respect, and the care they deserve:
- End Veteran Homelessness: No veteran who served this country should ever be without a safe place to call home.
- Mental Health Support: Expand access to timely, high-quality mental health care — including support for PTSD, depression, and the invisible wounds of war.
- Quality Healthcare: Ensure veterans receive the medical care they need without delays, barriers, or bureaucracy.
- Support During Transition: Provide stronger programs to help service members successfully transition into civilian life — including job training, education, and community support.
- No One Left Behind: Stand by our veterans long after their service ends, honoring their sacrifice with real, lasting support.
This is about more than policy — it’s about keeping a promise.
When our men and women in uniform return home, they should know their country stands with them just as strongly as they stood for us.
In honor of my father — and every veteran who has served — I will advocate to ensure that no one who wore the uniform is ever forgotten, neglected, or left behind.

Healthcare
No one in Florida should ever have to choose between putting food on the table and paying for life-saving medication. No senior should have to ration prescriptions. No family should live in fear of a medical bill they cannot afford.
Yet that is the reality too many people are facing today.
I believe we must take real action to make healthcare affordable, accessible, and focused on people — not profits:
- Lower the Cost of Care: Work to reduce healthcare costs so families can access the care they need without financial hardship.
- Affordable Prescriptions: Bring down the cost of prescription drugs and stop price gouging so no one has to skip medication to survive.
- Protect Our Seniors: Strengthen and protect programs like Medicare and ensure our seniors receive the care and dignity they deserve.
- Access for All: Make sure every Floridian — regardless of income — can see a doctor, receive treatment, and get the care they need.
- Patient-First Approach: Put patients back at the center of healthcare decisions, not insurance companies or bureaucracy.
This is about more than policy — it’s about humanity.
Healthcare decisions should never come down to impossible choices like “Do I eat, or do I take my medication?” That is not the kind of system we should accept in our country or in our state.
No one should ever have to choose between survival and taking care of themselves. I will advocate to make sure every Floridian can afford the care they need — with dignity, security, and peace of mind.
